Circus Fun Free
Free 40-minute circus shows will be a star attraction at the New Zealand Industries Fair at Canterbury Court tomorrow. Tigers, lions, monkeys, ponies, horses and a camel, as well as the two performing elephants Dolly and Helen, will feature in the three daily shows during the fair, ending on September 5. Trapeze artists and other varied acts in Ridgeway’s Circus will perform for many of 150,000 visitors expected at the Fair.
The Fair’s director, Mr R. T. Alston, executive director of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association, says the Fair will be one of the biggest and best Industries Fairs staged since 1937. There is no increase-in admission charges to the Fair, although the free circus will be presented three times daily, and will be longer and twice as big as last year’s preAdmission charges to the Fair are adults 35c and children 10c. sentation.
