Testing By Computer
A computer system which will control a bank of 20 diesel test engines is to be installed by the British firm of C.A.V., which makes fuel injection systems, starters, alternators, and other engine accessories. The computers will keep a record of the behaviour of each test engine, and will control pre-start checks, running, and the shut-down of the engines according to a pre-set pattern. If any fault occurs in an engine, the computer will switch it off within 25 seconds.
