SYDNEY, August 20.

Four thousand pounds of New Zealand snapper fillets were seized by fisheries inspectors at the Sydney fish market early today, and later dumped.

The inspectors said the fish had given off an offensive odour, and had crumbled after thawing. It was declared unfit for human consumption. The fish was worth more than $2OOO. It sells In Sydney shops at 70c to 75c a pound. The Fisheries Department has begun an inquiry to find out why the fish went bad. Some officials believe it was part of a container cargo delayed during the recent nine-day strike.
