Volleyball Results
Linwood slipped further be* hind the competition leaders. University A and B, in losing to an improved Teachers' College side this week, when matches in the Canterbury Volleyball Association's competition continued. Linwood looked strong in the first set and took a good lead with hard serving, but Co-1 lege regained steadiness and won by a narrow margin. A Bryndwr side very weak in all departments, through the loss of key players, lost heavily to University B. PUy was of a low standard, tne University players not needihg to extend themselves.
The University A-University C match was postponed because of the University vacation. In the B grade Linwood B has a strong chance of gaining the B title and the A. Congdon Cup, having one match to play, against University Women, and requiring only li points. Y.M.C.A. is in second place, with no further matches to Play. Results:
A Grade.—Teachers’ College A beat Linwood. 11-10, 18-9, 15-3, 16-11; University B beat Bryndwr A, 15-6, 15-9, 15-3, 15-4.
C Grade.—Linwood C beat Bryndwr B, 15-6, 10-11, 11-10. 15- Riccarton High School Staff drew with Fire Brigade B. 16- 21-16, 11-13, 11-23.
