N.Z. MARKET LEADERS RISE ON QUIET EXCHANGE
Leading New Zealand industrials were marked up in quiet trading yesterday. Mining and oil shares were dull. Australian stocks advanced strongly.
N.Z. Industrial Gases led the rises, with a jump of 25c to 422 c.
RISES
FALLS
A. Harvey moved up to 468 c, after recovering Bc. J. Wattie new found support, and the shares put on 3c to 154 c. New Zealand Insurance closed at 422 c, and South British at 602, both firmed 2c Dominion .Breweries ex dividend was steady at 173 c. Reid Rubber recovered 10c to 490 c.
Revertex Industries stood out among the falls, losing 20c to 240 c. The annual result has not yet been published, but the 12 per cent dividend has been maintained.
Consolidated Brick and Pipe notes dropped 8c to 257 c. Donaghy at 260 c, and Transport Nelson at 110 c, lost 3c each.
