Assault In Prison
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 27. Two Paremoremo Prison officers were attacked and beaten this afternoon. ■ One was admitted to hospital with head injuries, and the other was discharged after treatment The police said three prisoners would be charged in connection with the assaults. A police officer said the assaults happened shortly after 1.30 p.m., when a number of prisoners was being transferred from one part of the prison to another. A prison officer was attacked, and when a second officer went to his aid he, was set upon.
