Profitable Tour

AUCKLAND. The seven matches played by the Great Britain Rugby league team during its tour of New Zealand resulted in gross takings of about $56,000. Of this amount 65 per cent will go to the touring side which paid ail its expenses in New Zealand.
This compares well with the last tour of New Zealand by a British side when the return was just under $36,000. It also exceeded the $41,000 from the shorter tour by the Australians last year when two tests were played. The three tests this time were clearly the moneyspinners,
