Young Player Promoted For Invitation Rugby
H. Missen, a young midfield back from the University A team, has been chosen to play for Canterbury in the game against the Cantabrians’ invitation side at Rugby Park tomorrow. The untimely injury to H. T. Joseph gave Missen the chance to play regularly for his club team; now he has earned a further promotion because of the shoulder injury suffered by the Canterbury second five-eighths, K. J. Gimblett Three other members of the Canterbury team, C. Read, O. D. Bruce, and R. J. Lockwood will not take part in the game as they will go to Levin for
the national junior trial match on Thursday. The Cantabrians will have the services of four members of the provincial squad 1. Grant, L. D. Adams, B. F. Elder and M. S. Moore. The invitation XV, which will be led by the former All Black, D. A. Arnold, contains two Mid-Canterbury representatives, R. D. Sloper and A. Campbell, three from the West Coast, K. J. Beams, D. R. Edward and W. Taylor, and the Wellington second fiveeighths, B. R. Niven, who played for New Zealand Juniors last season. The team,s are:—
