Criticism Of Referee
(N.Z. Press Associattan) ' AUCKLAND An angry outburst against the refereeing of Mr A. Taylor . in the Auckland-Great Britain Rugby league game came from the touring manager (Mr J. B Harding) after his side had won, 22-8. at Carlaw Park yesterday. Mr Harding said: "1 think thestanderd was very, very low. I am looking at it from theNew Zealand Rugby league angle and there Is no sour - grapes. I think it they want te Improve league here they will have to improve the refereeing. "Fourteen penalties were awarded to Auckland In 20 minutes and none to the rest—and yet the ordinary mistake) were repeated by both sides. " Mr Harding said he Intended to make a full report ot hr* criticism to the International Rugby League Board. He emphasised that he would not have made his view known it his team hag bagn beaten.
