BONN ‘BUYS’ PRISONERS

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) BONN, July 27. West Germany has secretly bought the freedom of 200 prisoners held in East German gaols for 10m marks ($2,436,591), according to the newspaper, "Bild Am Sonntag.” “Under conditions of strictest secrecy, the prisoners, some of whom were serving.long terms, were brought across the Thuringian-Hes-sian zonal border into the Federal Republic,” it said. "Bild Am Sonntag” belongs to the powerful Axel Springer group of newspapers, which has been harshly critical of the quest of the Chancellor (Mr Willy Brandt) for better relations with East Germany.
