UNIVERSITY OFFER
Facilities For Games
The University of Canterbury has agreed in principle to offer its facilities for the 1974 British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch and to offer two church halls of residence, and the Canterbury University Students’ Association had also indicated similar agreement, the ViceChancellor of the university (Professor N. C. Phillips) told a meeting of the University Council yesterday He said that authorities at Rochester Hall had agreed that all facilities would be made available there; pending the completion of Rutherford Hall by 1974, its accommodation would also be available.
No decision on the use of Christchurch College was yet available, Professor Phillips said, as the request for the use of facilities had not yet reached the decision-making body involved.
