Canterbury won the South Island Division 111 badminton championship when it beat Southland Country, 14-2, in the final at Cowles Stadium on Saturday evening. Results were:

Mrs’S. Fox beat Mrs A. Heslop, 'll-2, 11-6; Mrs N. Johnston lost to Miss M, Greer, 5-11, 6-11; Miss L. Anderson beat Mrs G. Thwaites, 8-11, 11-8, 11-1; Miss H. Ryder beat Miss L. Elder. 11-4, 5-11, 11-5; Fox and Ryder beat Heslop and Thwaites, 15-11, 15-14; Johnston and Anderson lost to Greer and Elder, 1245, .10-15.
