Sir, —Mr Marshall makes pessimistic statements about the future of New Zealand should Britain join the E.E.C Has no thought been given to the immense potential of China and Indo-China as a consumer of some of our products? Japan is important, too, but dreams of a rebirth of the Asian “Co-prosperity sphere” threaten to disrupt trade relations with this country. Many Chinese are mutton eaters, and more could be made so.
