Maori As School Subject
Sir,—l listened recently with some interest to a talk on the problem of integration for the Maori people, most of which seemed to spring from the young one’s inability to keep up with learning the culture and language of their own people and at the same time attending to their studies for school examinations and professions. 1 would suggest that if Maori cultures and language were included as one of the subjects for school certificate and university entrance it would be of great assistance to them.—Yours, etc., W. B. CLARKSON. July 16, 1970.
