Valuable Gift 1 A gift to the Canterbury 1 Museum of English household i linen dating back to 1707, presented by Mrs G. Cant, was a most valuable acquisition, said the museum’s director (Dr R. S. Duff) at yesterday's meeting of the Museum Trust Board. Museum Visits In the last month, more than 7000 schoolchildren had visited the Canterbury Museum, the largest group being 3979 from Christchurch primary schools, the
museum’s education officer (Mr J. H. Johnson) told yesterday’s meeting of the Museum Trust Board. Contended Christchurch College, the Church of England residential hall at Ham, was not liable for rates and would therefore not be paying any assessment, said a letter from the college, reported to the Waimairi County Council last evening. No amount was mentioned, but the matter was left in the hands of the County Clerk (Mr J. Reid).
