Speech teachers had an important role in today’s society, Mrs Joy Payne told the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Association of Teachers of Speech and Drama, says a report of a recent Canterbury branch meeting. Mrs Payne, the t'97o South Island examiner for the New Zealand Speech Board, has just completed examining
Christchurch candidates. A high standard was expected by the board, she said.
