FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A south-west airflow covers New Zealand and the Tasman Sea. A weak frontal zone in this flow is advancing across the Tasman Sea toward the South Island. Forecast: Canterbury and the Kaikoura Coast.— Light to moderate winds, southerlies predominating; partly cloudy, with a few showers in exposed places; cool. Central Marlborough and Nelson.—Light to moderate variable winds; fine and cool. Marlborough Sounds. Moderate southerly winds; a few showers in the east at first; otherwise partly cloudy and cool. Buller and Westland.—Light to moderate southerly winds; mainly fine, but isolated showers developing in the south; cool. Outlook: mainly fair, apart from some showers in South Westland.
