50-HOUR FAST
Youth Group Sponsored
The youth group of the Papanui Methodist Church will hold a sponsored 50-hour fast at the week-end to raise money for the Sir Waltei Nash Appeal Fund. It would last from 6 p.m on Friday evening to about 8 p.m. on Sunday, the chairman of the organising committee (Mr G. D. Keats) said yesterday. About 20 young people aged between 14 and 21, will take part. A sponsorship programme. mainly friends and relatives of the participators, has been arranged, and the organisers hope to raise $2OO The group would sleep in the church hall during the fast and would consume only water, Mr Keats said.
