Trutone In Form

Trutone, a winner over a mile at Elerslie at the Great Northern meeting in June, is being kept up to the mark in training but his trainer, J. W. Winder, has still to decide if the gelding will contest the Taumarunui Cup at Te Awamutu on Saturday week. ' Trutone has a good record up to a mile but has not won at a middle distance. He has 841 in the Taumarunui event, a pound less than the top-weights Free Pass and Proud Chief.
Trutone worked freely over seven furlongs yesterday. He strode freely over the last five in Imin 7sec and the last three in 41 1-ssec.
