NEW PLYMOUTH, July 14. Russian helicopters developed for aerial topdressing may be imported into ,New Zealand. ", Mr A. Naumov, commercial counsellor with the Soviet Legation in Wellington, told a Rotary Club function in New Plymouth today that negotiations for a licence to import the helicopters had been under way since last September.

He said the helicopters were developed for spraying fertiliser in mountainous; territory. He could not give details of how many helicopters were envisaged, or their cost.

Negotiations were continuing for permission to bring fully assembled Russian cars to New Zealand, he said.
