(N.jS. Press Association) K DUNEDIN, July 10. Prices for light-weight prime cattle appreciated by $2 per head at Burnside market this week while heavy sort? remained on a par with last week. Most of the offering comprised light-weight. Though there was only a light yarding of veal, prices remained steady on late rates. Store cattle were also forward in only limited numbers but there were a few pens of wellgrown cattle among them. Values were firm to slightly in sellers* favour.

Prices for pigs, which were also penned in small numbers, remained unchanged. In the lamb section prices for heavy lambs remained on a par with late rates but light lambs moved up by 30c. However, in the adult sheep section, where almost 2500 were yarded and quality was good, there was a general depreciation In values. Values were:

Prime Beef.—Top oxen: 1178 to $195: heavy, $l5B to $176; medium, $ll4 to $154; light, $132 to $140; small, $127 to $l3O. Top heifer, $l3O to $136; medium, $l2O to $128: light, $lO6 to $ll5. Top cow, $132 to $135; medium, $ll9 to $121; light. $99 to $lll. Veal—Top, $llB to $124; medium, $BB to $9B; small, $7O to $BO. Suckers, $47. •iSi or 4 e Cattle.—Half-year steer, 8100 to $lO4. Steer calves, $94. Heifer calves, $6B. Pigs.—Top baconer. $35 to $5O: medium, $29 to $3l. Top porker, 829: medium, $24 to $26: small, $l7 to $l9. Weaners, $7.50 to $10.50. Lambs.—Top, $9 to $9.50; light, $B.lO to $8.50. Sheep.—Top hogget, $10.60 to $11.10: medium, $9 to s9.sought, $8 to $B.BO. Top ewe, to $7.80: medium. 86 to $6.80: Ught, from $5.50. Four-tooth wethers, $7.70 to $8.60.
