Parliament’s Diary
The Antarctica Amendment Bill, the Customs Acts Amendment Bill, and the Age of Majority Bill were introduced and read a first time when Parliament resumed yesterday afternoon. The last-named two were given pro forma second readings and referred to the relevant committees. Ministers answered nine questions. Three local bills were each advanced a stage, and another relating to Gisborne was introduced and given a first reading. No recommendation was given on a petition wanting the sale of fireworks prohibited until a week before Guy Fawkes Day. The Budget debate was then resumed.
