EASIER N.Z. SHAREMARKET WITH HIGHER TURNOVER

The New Zealand sharemarket continued to ease yesterday. Turnover was much higher; and many leaders recorded falls. The mining and oil list was stronger. Australian stocks weakened with the exception of Comalco fully paids.

New Zealand News stood, out with a rise of 16c toi 350 c in Auckland. The shares have a theoretical ex bonus value of 334 c. Skeilerup advanced another 5c to 325 c and Tasman put on the same amount to 310 c.

Golden Bay Cement re versed its recent trend and recovered 4c to 114 c. Seldom traded Southern Cross Hotel put on the same to close at 71c.

R. A. Brierley shares continued to advance possibly on the strength of its Australian subsidiaries’ activities. The fully paids rose 2c to 312 c and the new 3c to 308 c. Carbonic Ice stood oul among the falls when it lost 34c to end the day at 300 c

Henderson, Pollard lost another 10c to 160 c. A number of second line stocks lost sc. Leaders in gen eral lost 1c or 2c.
