Cameron, the New Zealand national gliding champion, is in fourth place in the standard class of the world gliding championships after finishing fifth in an out-and-return test on Tuesday, with an average speed of 60.3 miles i an hour over a 163-mile i course.

S. H. Georgeson, also of New Zealand, is in nineteenth | place over all in the open class, having landed 135.5 miles from base on Wednesday for a score of 497. His total is 1117 points. I. G. Evans (New Zealand) is thirty-fourth, with 620 points. Another member of the New Zealand team, R. C. Reid, is in thirty-third position in the standard class. Snow Reports Negative.— Three Canterbury fields Temple Basin, Mount Cheeseman and Porter Heights—reported to the Canterbury Ski Association yesterday that there was not sufficient snow for ski-ing this week-end. The Mount Cook Tourist Corporation, which runs the fields at Mount Cook and Coronet Peak, also gave a negative report.
