KAIKOURA LOSS
A loss of $1970 is shown In the accounts to be presented to the annual meeting of the Kaikoura Trotting Club next Wednesday. The club showed a loss of $40.3 the previous year. A record crowd attended the club's annual race meeting on November 3 last, says the report of the president (Mr T. H. Rainey). Betting both on and off-course increased, but the combined total of $236,059 was not a record for the club. "The fact that the Totalisator Agency Board lowered from 15 to 10 per cent the basic distribution of profits, meant our share of $6625 was $BB5 less than it would have been. This will not help our club, which requires all the assistance possible to maintain a reasonable level of stakes,” says the report.
