(N.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, June 12
Police who followed a trail of blood from a broken window at the scene of a burglary found a youth lying unconscious outside his home, a police prosecutor said in the Auckland Magistrate’s Court today. Tuhi Clay, aged 17, a freezing worker, who appeared on crutches, pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary. Sergeant E. D. Griffiths [said that Clay kicked in the front window of a Khyber Pass road milk bar at 3.30 a.m. and took three boxes of chocolates.
The glass cut an artery in Clay’s leg. He reached the front of his home, where he “passed out.” Mr D. G. Sinclair, S.M., convicted Clay and remanded him on bail to June 19 for a probation officer’s report and sentence.
