VOTE-CATCHING
Regardless of how the New Zealand delegation fares at Edinburgh next month in its bid to win Christchurch the 1974 Commonwealth Games, the dress of the party should ensure it attracts maximum interest. Each of the six official delegates, plus the four executive members who will also be on hand, will wear matching outfits at official functions. These include a pink shirt, a black tie embossed with small silver ferns, a black blazer with a silver fern monogram and the words "Commonwealth Games Promotion” In red, grey trousers, and brown suede shoes. As well, members will also have in their wardrobes blue striped shirts,
walk shorts and socks, and a second pair of trousers. All the clothes have been given to Commonweath Games Promotion by Kaiapol-Petone Group Textiles, Ltd. Details of the routes each of the three teams of two win follow as they present Christchurch’s case in 30 Commonwealth countries on their way to Edinburgh will be announced at a function In Christchurch this evening. A promotion film, produced by the National Film Unit, of which each team will have a copy, will also be shown tonight and details of activities planned for Edinburgh will be made public. The six members of the delegation will leave Christchurch next week.
