Runanga Rates Rise By 69%
(From Out Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, June 11. The Runanga Borough Council, at a special meeting this week, increased ates by 69 per cent, because of the start to be made on the $240,000 sewage system and the council’s obligation to pay instalments on the loans, in January and July. The increase in rates, if advantage is taken of rebates will average about $23.90 a household, pushing them to an average of slightly more than $6O annually.
