Presentation To Leaders
The Queen, the Pope, President Nixon, Mr Trudeau, Mr Gorton, and Emperor Hirohito have received copies of a book published by a Christchurch firm last year, entitled: “Captain Cook’s Artists in the Pacific; 17691779.” The Queen received copy No. 1 from the people of New Zealand during her reecnt visit The New Zealand Ambassador to Italy, Mr A. D. McIntosh, recently presented a copy to Pope Paul during an audience for New Zealand and Australian visitors to the Vatican. The book was published last year by Avon Fine Prints, Ltd. Only 2000 copies were printed. Its publication coincided with'Hie Captain Cook bicentenary.
