FAST ON HER FEET.—Mary Sonner, aged 15, is one of the fastest girl runners in the world. During the Hertfordshire athletic championships she won the 800 metres intermediate event in 2min 8.8sec, breaking her own British record by 4sec. Miss Sonner, who has been running for only three years, was 10sec faster than the winner of the 800 metres senior event.
