Radios For Stewards

Two-way radio contact between stipendiary stewards and patrol stewards may be introduced to trotting meetings next season. The secretary of the Trotting Conference (Mr J. Rowley) was instructed at a meeting of the executive in Christchurch on Friday, to make the necessary inquiries to have such a scheme introduced. The South Island vice-presi-dent of the conference (Mr O. Hutchinson) reported favourably on a similar scheme used at Albion Park. Brisbane. He felt certain that the introduction of two-way radio contact between stipendiary stewards and patrol stewards would be of great benefit.
