Delegates to the New South Wales Cricket Association will throw out a rule specifying the number of spikes which must be attached to cricket boots.

The move is a sequel to last season’s ban on N.S.W. players using ripple-soled boots in first-grade and Sheffield Shield games. The players were told to use boots with three spikes in each [heel and six spikes in each I sole. The N.S.W. executive committee suspended the State captain, J. Benaud, from all association cricket after the Shield match against Victoria for defying the instruction.
