Looking At Traffic
The Mayor of Wellington (Sir Francis Kitts), the chairman of the Wellington City Council’s traffic committee (Cr R. J. Campbell) and a member of the committee (Cr S. K. Spry) are visiting Christchurch to study the traffic system as it works un der the Ministry of Transport. The Ministry took over control of traffic from the Christchurch City Council last November. Sir Francis Kitts, in the New Zealand Traffic Institute, opposed the hand-over, but the Wellington council is now considering the Ministry’s offer to assume control in the capital.
