Record A Day Set By Auckland Swimmer
(N.I. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Miss G. Stirling (Auckland) broke her third New Zealand women’s shortcourse swimming record in as many days when she recorded 69.55ec for 110 yards backstroke in Commonwealth Games Urals last night Miss B. Williams cut her 220 yards breaststroke time back by a further o.4sec when
she clocked 2min 53.45ec. It is understood this time gives her a fifth ranking in the Commonwealth. Miss F. Crawford lowered two national junior girls' butterfly records in one swim. At the 100 yards mark, her time was 63.55ec and at the 110 yards, 70.6 sec, faster by o.3sec and o.4sec respectively, than times she set earlier this week.
