Mr Marshall May Go To London In June

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 6. The Deputy Prime Minister (Mr Marshall) is expected to visit London in June for more discussions on Britain’s application to join the European Common Market.

Mr Marshall said tonight that, as Minister of Labour, he hoped to attend’ the International Labour Organisation conference at Geneva from June 10 to 12. A statement from his office said that this would depend on his visiting London about that time for discussions on

Britain’s application to join the European Economic Community. Mr Marshall announced approval for the following nonGovemment nominations for the New Zealand delegation to the 1.L.0. conference, which will begin on June 3. Representing Employers.— Delegate: Mr C. R. Clayton, immediate past president, Employers* Federation. Adviser: Mr P. L. Oldham, assistant secretary, Employers’ Federation.

Representing Workers.— Delegate: Mr R. A. Hill, president of the Canterbury District Trades Council. Adviser: Mr F. B. Thorn, member of the executive of the F.O.L. Mr Marshall has also appointed Mr A. R. Perry, assistant Secretary of Labour, to represent the Government and to lead the delegation. He will be accompanied by Mr A B. Tuck, district superintendent of the Labour Department in Auckland, as the second Government delegate. The statement said that the Government delegates would probably have discussions in London and The Hague on arrangements for the proposed extension of the subsidy immigration scheme to Western Europe.
