WHOLESALE STOCKS
6.8% Rise In Value

WELLINGTON, March 19.
The Government Statistician (MrJ. P. Lewin) announced today that the value of wholesalers’ stocks at the end of last year was $278.8 million, or 6,8 per cent, higher than at the same period in 1968.
The total value of stocks at. December 31 was 3.1 per cent higher than the value recorded at the end of September, he said.
The wholesale turnover in the quarter ended December 31 ■was 11 per cent higher than in the same period in 1968. The turnoyer of the firms in the survey was $471.5 million in 1969.
