Rev. K. M. Andrews
The death has occurred in Christchurch of the Rev. Keith Andrews, minister of the Linwood Avenue Church of Christ He was 56. Mr Andrews was bom in Christchurch and was educated at North Linwood Primary School and Christ’s College. He belonged to the family which founded the firm of Andrews and Beaven, Ltd.
During the Second World War he served in the Army and the Royal New Zealand Air Force with a period overseas in the Pacific. On returning to New Zealand he entered Glen Leith Theological College to train for the ministry.
Graduating in 1950, he became associate minister at Nelson Church of Christ, and from 1951-56 was minister of the Annesbrook Church after it became an independent congregation. From 1957-1968 Mr Andrews was minister at the Oamaru Church of Christ.
In 1967 he was appointed conference president of the Associated Churches of Christ, and he was one of the youngest men to hold this office
For the last two years Mr Andrews had been minister of the Linwood Avenue Church of Christ in Christchurch. At the time of his death he was chairman of the Canterbury-Westland District Conference of the Churches of Christ
Mr Andrews is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son.
