Sports Stadium
Sir,—Having decided on a site for a new sports stadium the Christchurch City Council should soon decide to build. This is a stadium for the people of Christchurch, but, of the various councils comprising the greater city of Christchurch only the City Council has put forward a proposal for a new stadium. Here is an opportunity for local bodies to come together and form a joint committee for the planning Of the stadium. This is a stadium for Christchurch and because of this all people must be prepared to share in its development. .This can be done only by all local councils coming together and contributing to the cost of the project. Perhaps a better site could be found in the fast-growing north-west part of Christchurch. A decision such as this should be left to the joint committee which could include representatives of interested. sports bodies.— Yours, etc, G. N. DAVEY. March 18, 1970;
