Protest March, Then Coffee

(N.Z.P.A.'Reuter —Copyright) i STOCKHOLM, Mar. 1. About 500 women paraded through Stockholm to demand greater rights for housewives —and ended up drinking coffee and chatting with Cabinet Ministers. The women, who claimed that Swedish taxation laws discriminated against the housewife, marched under police escort to the Chancellery building, waving banners and chanting slogans. Their leaders were invited to talk to the Prime Minister (Mr Olof Palme) over coffee, and another group met the Finance Minister (Mr Gunnar Straeng). Mr Palme said afterwards that he had had a useful chat with the housewives but did not: envisage making changes in the tax system.
