Ireland And Wales W'in (X.Z.P.A -Reuter—Copyright > LONDON. Wales staged a great second half rally to beat England 1713 in one of the most thrilling internationals at Twickenham for many seasons. In the first half. England played with determination and spirit to lead 13-3 at the interval. But Wales, which had rallied from a nine-point deficit to beat Scotland 18-9 earlier this month, again showed its fighting qualities A crowd of 63,000 saw it win by a goal, a dropped goal and three tries to England s two goals and a penalty goal In Dublin Ireland held off a late rally by Scotland to win 16-11 after leading 13-3 at half-time It won by two goals and two tries to one goal, one dropped goal and one try to reconl its fourth successive win over Scotland. The Irish, cheered on by a crowd of 50,000 played irresistible Rugby in the first 43 minutes, scoring four spectacular tries, but thereafter they eased up and were almost caught. Had the Scots taken their numerous chances in the second half they would have won. T. Kiernan, the Irish full- 1 back who was playing in his ! forty-sixth international— 1 equalling J. Kyle’s British ' Isles record, converted two { tries. But Ireland s win was in- ‘ spired by its brilliant mid- * field player. M.
