West Chch-University Cricket Champion

Although it was beaten on the first innings by Riccarton on Saturday, Christchurch-University has won the senior cricket championship for the 1969-70 season.

The second-placed team. East Christchurch-Shirley, was also beaten on the first innings, and West’s lead of 19 points before the final round has placed it in an unassailable position.

The situation is rather similar to that two' seasons ago. when West Christchurch - University had the ehampionship two rounds from the finish.
