Latimer Square
Sir, —1 was greatly heartened to read that no land for reading could be filched from Latimer Square because of an act of 1877. 1 hope the same act applies to Cranmer Square. Three cheers for Cr Skellerup! The rape of these two squares must not be allowed. They are two oases of green in a sea of motorcars which threatens to swamp us. The motor-car must not be permitted to rule our lives. It seems the planners view these two squares tfs barriers in the way of the all-powerful motor-car. Do not let our city fathers interfere with one inch of these squares. They must remain inviolate. Down with the motor-car!—Yours, etc., S.O.S. (SAVE OUR SQUARES). February 27, 1970.
