Republic Pet. Shares Cheap
(N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 26. The shares in Republic Petroleum Corporation (N.Z.), Ltd, were listed on stock exchanges today and were under some selling pressure. The fully paid 50c shares, which earlier this month reached 110 c in unofficial trading, were first sold at 60c, dropped to 58c and later recovered to 63c. The 30c paid shares, which in unofficial trading fetched up to 90c, but had weakened considerably in recent days, came on the market at 43c. They dropped a cent before climbing to 47c. Republic put out two million shares early this month in an issue that was heavily over-subscribed. The company has exploration licences over 1566 square miles in the Waikato Basin.
