RISES New Zealand Price Var’n
Gas company shares showed more strength, with rises of! 10c to 190 c for Wellington Gas and 3c to 188 c for Auck-| land Gas. Bonds firmed 10c to 210 c on its profit report, and Grace put on 4c to sell at 58c. The large rises were made by Dun lop and Schofield, which sold 30c higher, while Crothalls added 15c at 335 c. Wilsons Cement rose 5c to 300 c again, while Winstone—one of the bidders for Wilsons—fell another 3c to 145 c. Leaders were mainly steady, but Alex Harvey continued to take losses, falling 10c to 450 c yesterday. This brings it back
Some second-line industrial shares rallied yesterday, and the New Zealand sharemarket ended the day with falls only slightly ahead of rises. Mining stocks continued to slide, but L and M Oil recovered 10c to 210 c.
