Rising Fast On Parade
(N-.Z. Press Association) WHAKATANE. The former Waikato jockey. N. Crombie, will ride again on February 21. He has obtained the mount on the Melbourne Cup winner. Rising Fast, which wil lead the grand parade at the Whakatane A. and P show. Crombie rode Rising Fast in his first six starts in New Zealand. The horse then went to Australia to win the Melbourne Cup. the Caulfield Cup twice and was just beaten in his second Melbourne Cup in 1955. Rising Fast, now 20 years old. is in retirement on the farm ■I of Mr W. Spring, at Te Awa- ' muutu. I This would be the first pub'lie appearance in New Zealand iby Rising Fast since he returned from Australia, Mr I Crombie said yesterday
