Pigeon Racing
I Strong, gusty winds made for slow times in the Bryndwr Pigeon Flying Club s race from Kaikoura. the winning bird averaging 29 miles an hour for the 91-mile journey. The race opened the club s 1970 youngbird season, and 14 members entered 85 birds. The winning bird was owned by R. Roberts, .with Cross and Miller second, land R. Ashcroft third.
