W Dear, president - [ of the Woolston District Im-' 1 provement Association, said that the present commercial:
area was inadequate for the area’s needs. j Mr B F. Deare, of the Wool[ston Rugby League Club also objected. He said the club had purchased a property on the south side, and had invested $16,000. When the property. containing two shops, 'was bought four years ago it ;was zoned commercial If the zoning were changed to resitdential, the club would be left (with a small section not attractive to a home builder and would lose a lot of ;money. The club still had a [ mortgage of $3OOO on the property Other objectors were Mr I R. A. Clarke, owner of a shop [in the area, Mr C. W. Rus[sell, managing director of C. and I. Russell, Ltd. plumbers, -and Mr K. W. Dowson. of K. Dowson and Sons. Ltd.
