NEW ZEALAND SHAREMARKET FIRM AND ACTIVE AGAIN

1 he New Zealand sharemarket continued to move up strongly in active trading yesterday. Again there was as much interest in industrials as in miners, and rises outnumbered falls by five to two.

Leading issues were firm, although many closed steady; and the movements were' mostly small.

Sharper gains among the second-line stock,s included 40c for Paper Mills, 20c for Wilson Malt, 10c for Coulls and 0.D.T., and 8c for Vibra oac Blocks.

Wellington Publishing, which is bidding for “Truth," eased 7c to 248 c, while Win : stone and Wilsons Cement 1 both recovered Monday’s losses. Wallace sold up to 75c again and Brierley rose 10c although its contributings were among the falls. A.B Consolidated traded heavily and rose 2c to 55c. Consolidated Silver and L and M Oil both eased, falling I 2c to 78c and 5c to 243 c Southern Cross Minerals, which leaped ahead last week, was steady, and Waihi added another 10c to Monday's 27c I gain before sliding to close steady at 115 c.

Mount Isa’s spectacular profit report sent the shares up! 170 c to 1820 c, ending a long; slide, while New Zealand; Petroleum new and Beach Petroleum were both firm. ; Overseas industrials were! firm.
