Girl’s Second Contest Win
For the second year in succession Mere Nihoniho, aged 10, of 31 Windsor Crescent, Spreydon, has won a shopping centre beauty contest Yesterday afternoon she was crowned “Junior Miss Northlands” at the Northlands Shop ping Mall, and last year she was the “Riccarton Mall Princess.”
Her prize yesterday, in the competition open to girls to 12 years of age, was a posy of flowers and a $2O voucher. Mere will be in Standard 4 at the West Spreydon School this year and her mother said last evening that the first $6 would be spent on a pair of shoes.
“The rest will be put away until she finds something she wants," Mrs Nihoniho said.
