Rome Traffic Disrupted

Several thousand striking transport workers from Rome and other major cities yesterday disrupted traffic as they marched through the Italian capital to press their demands for better pay and working conditions. The march added to traffic congestion caused by thousands of people driving or walking to work. The strikes are part of a series being staggered over a ■ three-week period by Italy’s 87,000 transport workers.
